Ruchira began his career as a software engineer and rose through the ranks by holding key positions in different areas of the field. He went on to found LAYOUTindex (Pvt) Ltd and currently holds multiple positions in the corporate sector including CEO & Managing Director of LAYOUTindex (Pvt) Ltd and Director of LAYOUTindex Holdings Pte. Ltd Singapore. With extensive experience in management, finance, administration, business analysis, software engineering, sales, and digital marketing, he possesses the full gamut of skills to successfully execute technology projects of any size or scale.

In his youth, he was the front-man in a band, that went on to release singles. He patronizes only one store for all fashion needs forming a sizeable revenue for that business. He enjoys an occasional game of tennis and is an ardent follower of motorsports.

In his journey of over 16 years' industry expertise, he formed LAYOUTindex to suggest a different value proposition for medium- and large-scale enterprises in their go-to-market strategy. In essence, this was to generate leads through better user experience and world-class designs. With a traditional mindset held by many corporates then, the paradigm shift has taken place over a decade that began as a far-fetched vision with LAYOUTindex now being coined as one of the region’s most sought-after creative software developers with a large focus on UI design and user experience. LAYOUTindex, under Ruchira's purview have delivered countless web and mobile applications, and enterprise software. Ruchira has been a pioneer in putting Sri Lanka on the digital map. He loves a solid ticketing solution from movies to highways, and BBQ ribs. Many booking engines delivered by LAYOUTindex have been his brainchildren including products such as, 444 Powered by Dialog Axiata. He also serves as the Director cum Chief Technology Officer for For You Information (Pvt) Ltd, which is the managing partner of multiple leading technology products in Sri Lanka.

Ruchira envisages an AI-driven technology landscape with minimal human interaction in areas like management and administration. He believes that exceptionally designed user experiences can transform businesses to enhance convenience and provide exceptional cost savings.
